CATW Practice 2

In the article,"The woman who died in the waiting room", by Jensen Interlandi, it talks about a woman named Esmin Green that fell out of her chair in a Brooklyn Psychiatric hospital before anyone found out that there was something wrong with her. This is upsetting since staff members and security guards passed through the room without even helping or caring for her, irresponsibly How irresponsible this is for hospital workers can be shown during this essay.

As much as workers in hospitals help and care for their many patients, Esmin's death could.ve been stopped if there was a caretaker with her. Even her own relative. Public hospitals have helped millions of uninsured mentally ill patients and still are busy with others but this is no excuse for not helping her. Staff members and doctors are held responsible for this. For example, when my Grandmas sick in Ecuador and no ones there to help her, my mom or aunts would take off from work and go there to help her since they're her daughters . Since she has no one else to be with. They're held responsible for helping each other out no matter what the cost.

Another reason why staff members and doctors are still held responsible for Esmin's death is because it's unfair for her to not have been seen by any doctor for anything since she was waiting to be seen. For example, every time my dad waits to be seen when he is at the doctor, the staff always makes sure the patients are seen. Since its their job. Everyone should be held for everything no matter what.

During my essay, i have shown that Esmin Green in the article, "The woman who died in the waiting room", by Jensen Interlandi, was uncared for unfairly and irresponsibly in the Brooklyn Psychiatric hospital while she off her chair and died in the waiting room.

Revision of CATW 1

In the article, "An Education in citizenship" by the 'Chicago Tribune', it explains how the state of Illinois has just passed a bill that's going to allow young people in the country illegally to pay in-state tuition rates at Illinois colleges and universities. The house had said that it "was an easy vote for most of the lawmakers". I agree with the house of Illinois by the following.

The state made the right decision in passing the bill because it helps the entering freshman that are illegal to get a great education for a future career. It's right that they pay a cheaper tuition pay based on their tax return. This reminds me of when my mom told me how she came to NY to get a better education. She didn't have to pay as much because she came from Ecuador and came to LaGuardia community college based on her taxes and that she was an immigrant. She knew other people that were in this situation besides her sisters.

Another reason i believe the state made the right decision is because it gives immigrants a better education even though its almost like controlling citizenship and its rights and responsibilities. For example i have seen many Mexican people in flushing that are standing around waiting for jobs. They have passed college and received a good education but their still sitting around looking for jobs. Their here illegally but they were able to get a good education but still looking for a career.

Based on the article, "An education in citizenship" by the 'Chicago Tribune',  I have explained that the house of Illinois had made the right decision in passing the bill that allows entering freshman in the college who are in the U.S. illegally to pay in-state tuition rates at Illinois colleges and universities, with my examples and evidence.

CATW Practice 1

In the article, "An Education in citizenship" by the 'Chicago Tribune', it explains how the state of Illinois has just passed a bill that's going to allow young people in the country illegally to pay in-state tuition rates at Illinois colleges and universities.

Another reason why i believe the state made the right decision is because it gives immigrants a better education even though its almost like controlling citizenship and its rights and responsibilities. My dad came from Ecuador like my mom as well and he went to college too but not Laguardia like me and my mom. It was cheap for him and after he finished he became a UPS driver, which he still is. It's a fair paid job, but it's tiring for him.
